Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to what local business owners ask us most. Don't see your question? Reach out — we'll answer it directly.

How much does a website cost?

Pricing depends on scope — page count, features, and whether you need extras like online booking or a product catalog. After a free 15-minute discovery call, we give you a fixed quote upfront so you know exactly what you'll pay before any work starts. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices.

How do we get started, and what do you need from me?

It starts with a free 15-minute call — no pressure, no jargon. You tell us what your business does and what you're stuck on; we tell you honestly whether we're the right fit and what it would cost. If we move forward, the main thing we need from you is your content: text, photos, hours, and your business details. We move as fast as you can get those to us.

How long does it take to build my website?

Most local business websites take 2–4 weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger projects with custom features (booking systems, e-commerce, member portals) can take 4–12 weeks. The biggest factor is usually how quickly you can get us your content — text, photos, business info — since we move as fast as you do.

Do I own my website after you build it?

Yes, completely. You own the domain, the code, the content, and the hosting account. If you ever decide to work with someone else, you can take everything with you. We don't lock anyone into anything.

Why hire Zasenami instead of a big agency?

You talk directly to the person actually building your site — not an account manager who relays messages. We don't charge agency overhead because we don't have agency overhead. Most local businesses don't need a marketing team of twelve; they need someone reliable who picks up the phone and gets the job done.

Do you work with businesses outside Montreal and Laval?

We're based in Laval and primarily serve the Greater Montreal area, but we work with clients across Quebec and remotely with businesses anywhere in Canada. The work is the same — we just do calls instead of in-person meetings.

Do you work in French and English?

Yes — we're based in Quebec and work in both. We can build your site, your Google profile, your customer texts, and your AI chatbot in French, English, or both side by side. If you serve customers in both languages, bilingual is the default, not an upsell. We also keep you onside with Quebec's French-language rules so you don't have to think about it.

How fast do you respond when I need something?

You're talking to the person doing the work, so you're not waiting on a ticket queue. For most things we reply same day. If you're on a Hosting + Maintenance plan, you get a faster guaranteed response window, and your small content changes are handled as part of the plan — no per-email billing.

Can you get my business to show up on Google and Google Maps?

Yes — that's one of the most common things we do. We set up or clean up your Google Business Profile (the listing with your hours, photos, and reviews that shows on Maps), make sure your name, address, and phone match everywhere online, and fix the things that quietly keep you from showing up for local searches. A one-time profile setup runs $200–$600 depending on what shape your listing is in. If you want to keep climbing over time, that's our ongoing Search Visibility work.

What's AEO (showing up in AI assistants), and why should I care?

AEO means making sure your business gets named when customers ask an AI assistant — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity — for a recommendation. More and more people start there instead of typing into Google, and Quebec leads the country in AI use. Traditional SEO doesn't cover this, and most local agencies aren't doing it yet. Getting in early is a real head start on competitors who are still invisible to those tools.

What's the difference between regular SEO and this AI-visibility stuff?

Regular SEO gets you ranking on Google's results page. AI visibility gets you named inside the answer an assistant gives, before the customer ever sees a list of links. They're not separate jobs anymore — about 60% of the work overlaps, which is why we bundle them into one service called Search Visibility instead of charging you twice. You want both: Google still owns "plumber near me," and the AI answer increasingly owns "how do I choose a plumber."

Is SEO dead now that everyone uses AI?

No — but "rank #1 and wait for clicks" is fading. When an AI summary appears at the top of Google, fewer people click through to the links below it. So the goal has shifted from being the top link to being the source the AI quotes. That's still SEO work at its core; it's just aimed at a moving target. Anyone telling you to stop entirely, or promising you a guaranteed ranking, is selling you something — ask which Google document they're citing.

I keep missing calls when I'm busy. Can you help with that?

Yes. When a call comes in and you can't pick up, we text the caller back automatically — usually within about a minute — so the lead doesn't just hang up and dial your competitor. You still call them back yourself; you just do it knowing their name and what they need instead of fishing through voicemail. It matters because fewer than 3 in 100 people who hit voicemail ever leave a message — the rest are simply gone. Pricing depends on your call volume and whether you need it bilingual; we'll size it on a quick call.

How do I get more Google reviews without nagging people?

We set it up so every paying customer gets one short, friendly review request automatically, at the moment they're most likely to say yes — right after the job or visit. You don't have to remember to ask. We send the same ask to every customer; we never filter for only the happy ones, because that's against Google's rules and it gets profiles suspended. Most owners are surprised how big the gap is: 78% of customers say they'd leave a review if asked, but most businesses have no system to actually ask.

Customers book and then don't show up. Is there a fix?

Yes — we send automated reminders before each appointment (usually 24 hours and 2 hours ahead), with one tap to confirm and an easy way to reschedule. A no-show that reschedules is a saved slot instead of an empty one. We start by measuring your actual no-show rate for the first 30 days, so you can see the before-and-after for yourself. And if your no-show rate is already low, we'll tell you — and point you toward something that'll actually move the needle instead.

Can an AI chatbot on my website actually help, or is it just a gimmick?

A good one earns its keep by answering the routine questions — hours, pricing, "do you do X" — and capturing the lead's contact info, 24/7, so a late-night or weekend visitor doesn't bounce to the next business. It's trained on your actual services and FAQs, speaks in your voice, and hands off to you the moment something needs a human. It doesn't replace you — it covers the after-hours and the hands-are-full moments you can't. We'll build it bilingual and, in Quebec, with the privacy disclosures the law requires.

What's an AI voice agent, and do I need one?

It's an AI receptionist that answers your business phone — books appointments, answers common questions, and routes urgent calls — so after-hours and overflow calls stop going to voicemail. It's the right fit for phone-heavy businesses like trades, clinics, and salons. Honest take: if most of your customers are under 40, a text-back setup usually beats a phone bot, and we'll tell you that rather than sell you the bigger thing. Easiest way to decide is a short call.

Can you build a custom app, not just a website?

Yes — booking systems, client portals, internal dashboards, and full iOS + Android apps when an off-the-shelf tool won't cut it. We scope it with you first so you're not paying for features you won't use, then build, test, and launch. If it's a phone app, we handle the App Store and Google Play submission. Tell us the problem you're trying to solve and we'll tell you honestly whether an app is the right answer or whether something simpler would do.

Do you run Google, Facebook, and TikTok ads?

Yes — all three as one coordinated service, not three separate retainers, because your customers are spread across all of them and the strategy should be shared. We handle setup, tracking, the creative, and reporting tied to real outcomes — cost per customer, not cost per click. We won't take on ad management below a real spending level, though, because under that the platforms can't learn and you'd just be burning money. We'll tell you on the call whether you're there yet.

What does the Hosting + Maintenance plan actually cover?

It keeps your site fast, secure, and current so you never have to think about it: managed hosting, automatic backups, security updates, uptime monitoring, and a set number of small content changes each month. Every 90 days we also re-check your privacy policy and legal pages against current Quebec and Canadian law and fix anything that's drifted — at no extra cost. Plans start at $75/month. Most clients prefer this so a broken site or an outdated policy is never their problem to catch.

Do you handle privacy and Quebec's Law 25 / cookie rules?

Yes, and on any new site we build it's included free. Quebec's Law 25 requires a proper privacy policy and that tracking cookies stay off until a visitor actually agrees — most template and agency-built sites quietly skip this and drop tracking on everyone with no consent, which is exactly what invites a complaint. We bake the compliant setup in from day one. If you have an existing site we didn't build that needs fixing, we can retrofit it for a one-time fee.

What if I need changes after my site launches?

You have two options. For one-time tweaks, we charge per change with no minimum. For ongoing updates, our Hosting + Maintenance plan covers minor content changes, security patches, and software updates every month — most clients prefer this so they never have to think about their site.

Do you offer payment plans?

For projects, our standard split is 50% upfront and 50% on launch. Larger projects can be broken into 3–4 milestone payments. Recurring services like hosting, SEO, and AEO are billed monthly. We accept e-transfer, credit card, and bank transfer.
