Frequently asked questions
Can callers tell it's AI?
In most cases, yes — the voice is realistic but not indistinguishable from a human. We don't recommend trying to pass it off as a person; transparency actually builds trust. Most customers are fine with "hi, I'm [business name]'s virtual assistant — how can I help?" as long as the agent actually solves their problem quickly.
Does it book appointments on my real calendar?
Yes. We integrate with Google Calendar, Calendly, Acuity, or whichever booking system you already use. The agent sees your real availability, books directly into your calendar, and sends confirmation to both the customer and you. If a slot is double-booked or the call is urgent, it transfers to you.
What happens if a caller is angry or difficult?
The agent is trained to stay calm, apologize briefly, and escalate to a human — it doesn't argue, lecture, or mirror the tone. Angry-caller handling is one of the first scripts we write during setup because it's where most off-the-shelf voice bots embarrass the business. Yours won't.
Does it answer 24/7 or just after hours?
Either way — your choice. Most businesses use it 24/7 as overflow during the day (so calls during a job don't go to voicemail) plus full coverage after hours and weekends. Some use it only as an after-hours backup. Pricing is the same either way — you pay for the minutes used.
Can I keep my existing phone number?
Yes, but it requires porting — carrier paperwork that takes two to four weeks. If you want to test the service first, we can set up forwarding from your existing number to the AI agent's number within a day. Once you decide to keep it, we do the port.
